This blog was created for the Junior AVID students of River City High School. This site will be used to link students to important college information. This is also a place for RC AVID students to discuss topics of high school or college
I have already planned to take yoga and assorted P.E. classes to make up for not having time in my schedule sophomore year. Also, that will allow me to not have to take P.E. in college. I also plan to take the required Government course at SCC, that way it gives me the grade bump in high school and college credits. I have already planned this with my counselor.
ReplyDeleteI have mad a plan to take history courses Govt/ECON over the summer at SCC, just as my partner Tayyaba did last summer. We both have and will continue to discuss the schedules for the summer classes with our individual counselors. The college course will help me to recieve AP class credits and it will save me $86 becuase I will not be required to take the Collegeboard AP exam. One class less on my schedule for senior year will allow me to focus on the required class of Visual and Performing Arts that I still need to complete. Avid students, visit this website, it discusses 8 ways in which we can earn college credits from high school http://www.eduguide.org.
ReplyDeleteI have made a plan to take the Government course, that is requireded, over the summer. If I pass this course it will give me AP class credits. This course can save me money because I won't need to take the test. I also won't need to take the AP exam. This can also help me save money when I go to college because it can give me college credits for this course. This will also give me more room in my schedule next year. This website will give you some classes you can take {at Sacramento City College)that can give you college credits. http://www.scc.losrios.edu/
ReplyDeleteOver this summer i am going to try and take college course and if it is not possoble for me to do so then i will do it over winter, because i am a lifeguard. At SCC i plan to take govt/econ so i may have college credits and so i dont have to take the AP Exam and it will save me money. This will also let me focus on my VPA since i have not yet completed this. Me and my counsler have discussed this, and she said it was fine for me to do. Hey AVID class this is off topic but here is a web site so you can earn scholarships and it helps you choose a college if you have no idea---> www.cappex.com i hope this helps
ReplyDeleteI plan to take AP English (if i get in), AP Calculus, AP Gov, AVID, and an art class (preferably ceramics, or 2d). An alternative would be taking Gov over the summer at SCC. It's going to be easier to get in this time since I got in last year. However, my schedule may change depending on whether I get into the AP classes I wanted.
ReplyDeleteArmando.....king i am realy confused on what you are asking me to write about. I have read the two plans above and all i can think of is, i want to take eight classes next year.I want to take two math classes and retake any classes that i may have gotten a "C" in.
ReplyDeleteI plan to take yoga with melissa at SCC and probualy a pottery class over summer. Maybe the required goverment class that everyone else is talking about. I will talk to my counsilar about what she thinks is best. I also want to retake spanish at SCC cause i only took 2 years at RC and want 3 and want to make sure i learn it well. I didnt feel like i didnt at RC.
ReplyDeleteI am planning on taking government class during the summer to have more elective opportunities to finish my high school credits faster. I plan to pass all of my classes for next year with a C+ or higher.
ReplyDeleteI am planning to take however many classes I can here at RC. Some classes might not be offered next year here at RC due to all the budget cuts, so if that happens I will probably go to a community college and take an art class,a spanish class and maybe look into taking other interesting electives.
